Another joyful part of the visit this week was that the divisional Christmas card has cartoons of *everybody* in teh division on it, so we all had our photos taken...... I hate having my photo taken!

A long week at work - 2 x 12 hours days on Thursday and Friday, as we had visitors over from the US, mostly to see me and one other guy. Seemed to spend much of the week fighting with IT issues, but that's to be expected when you're bringing a new site online :-) Overall a useful and productive visit, and good to meet people who I've had dealings with over the course of the last year - putting a face to a name is so useful and it makes future interaction some much nicer!

Also a longer week as Carol was in Birmingham on Tuesday and had a staff meeting & parents evening on Wednesday evening, so we really ddn't see much of each other. Her comitments meant that I had to drop off and pick up the children for much of the first half of the week, which just added to the stress!

Houses........ As [info]frinkuk noted, Beresford Adams were a little slow in putting the house on their website - they are really nice and helpful, but took ages to get the details correct (we don't have a 115' 9" long living room, or 68' long kitchen, sadly!). Finally it's up there, for all the world to see! Following one of the viewings, we got an offer last week, but that's now been withdrawn. We've got a second veiwing on Monday, so hopefully that will turn into something... Just to add to this, the house we have had an offer accepted on in Slae has got a second viewing book on it this weekend, so we will have to see what happens to that - I really don't want to lose that house, as it really suits us (3 berooms, 2 reception, cellar, double garage, large attic - ie plenty of space for my lights & computers :-) ).

And to top it all off, the router died the other dy, so we had to buy a new one today (£20 in Aria, so no big hassle), but that had the Chinese firmware on it, so was a tad difficult ot setup, meaning another trip to Aria. We now have an English language firmware router, so I'm able to access things online again :-) Does mean that carol can do her OU stuff again :-( but that does finish at the end of May :-)

Anyway, wiring to do, in preparation for Mairi's gig next Saturday (oh sh*t!!), that I'm doing lighting for. It's only in Chester.......

Current Mood: Bloody Knackered!

Well, as some of you will know, our house is on the market (Beresford Adams, if you're feeling nosy!), we've got a second viewing booked for tomorrow, which is looking really promising, and things are moving fast :-) The house we are viewing is at the North end of Sale, close to the M60, and an easy commute for both Carol & I. Hazel's got a nursery place near by, and hopefully Dave will get a school place at the same school. We've spent (well, Carol has anyway!) the last week or so tidying the house and getting ready for viewings. We've not had anybody to look so far, but that should change next week.

Work's being really busy - our VP was over from the US this week, so we went out to celebrate being bought - some very nice food and a little wine was consumed :-) We've now move offices, and are basically settled in - the process went fairly easily, far better than it could have! Now I'm just getting used to a slightly different commute to work (Altrincham as opposed to Carrington, for those who care!).

The arch is now looking very empty, after we did some work yesterday. I'm sure Si will manage to fill it back up with the RNCM opera set on Saturday, but never mind! At least the "chickens" will be going soon-ish......

Anyway, I should *really* go and do some dishes............

I made it into the world of LJ :-)

Not really sure what I'll write about, but you never know, I may find something truly inspirational...... or not!
Anyway, Carol's abandonded me for the evening to go to a planning meeting for Sunday School (she's a leader for the 3-5year age group, along with Katharine ([info]sorceressgirl[info]), so I'm mostly entertaining myself.
